How do I use Oestrogel?

Oestrogel is dispensed from a pump and contains 750 mcg of estradiol per actuation. The gel is spread over a large surface area where it is then absorbed through the skin.

What you need to know before using Oestrogel

If you have not used an HRT medicine before, or are switching from period-free HRT treatment, you can start using Oestrogel whenever is most convenient for you.

If you are already using a type of HRT in which you have a period, finished the medicine pack of your current HRT before you start using Oestrogel.

You must apply the gel yourself. Do not let anyone else apply the gel for you.

After applying the gel, avoid close skin to skin contact with your partner for 1 hour after.
